A comtemporary fiction book written by Erica Bauermeister .She's known for her book "The school of essential ingredients ".I picked this book after reading the summary in Goodreads .It felt right to read it now especially in this times of pandemics .
The story revolves around a group of women who gather one night for a dinner party to celebrate Kate's recovery from cancer .During the dinner ,Kate's daughter asks her to go with her on a white water rafting trip .A challenge that Kate was terrified of but her friends encouraged her to do it .She finally accepts only on a condition that they need to be challenging themselves too .Furthermore ,she's the one who picked the things they're supposed to accomplish .The tasks vary from women to another ,some seem easy and others hard to do but they all serve a certain purpose in these women's lives .
Each chapter dives into one of the friend's life ,but they're all connected somehow .They're neighbors, sisters and friends .We get to follow them in the adventure ,feeling there with them .The description is detailed with a scarce of poetic feel .The sensations and feelings we get to experience thanks to the beautiful words .
It's like listening to some soothing music .The words are lyrical in some parts and the narration is captivating .
Reading this book was pure joy to me and I love the idea of sharing how I felt with you .
I highly recommend reading it for people looking for a sweet and purposeful read .
