"This is going to hurt" by Adam KAY: Review:

Being a medical student, I always like to read books that refer to medical field, so I chose to read "this is going to hurt" by Adam KAY

It's a non-fictional book, more specifically a diary made by a junior doctor, or as I prefer to say, ana eye-opener into the daily routine of a junior doctor.

Adam KAY narrates different situations he had to deal with it during his medical training from 2004 to 2010. He also talked about the UK health system weaknesses, and how he can be defaulting and deficient. The system can push doctors beyond their limits, like long night shifts that can exceed 24 hours, ignore their problems ... which is totally true (the moroccan health system is worse ;) )

Government health care turns good doctors into slaves.

This is the funniest book i've ever read, and the most tragic one. Sometimes, I found myself laughing out loud due to patients stupidity, unusual private habits of the human race, and social schizophrenia

The end of the book was like a punch line: the reason why Adam resigned, which was very emotional, and just show us, once more, how the health system doesn't care about their doctors.

I think it's a must read book, and a great way to start 2019.

So, did you read this book? If so, share with us your opinion and let us know what do you think about the UK health care
